Our old truck Empty
PostSubject: Our old truck   Our old truck EmptyFri Sep 19, 2008 7:37 pm

Hey everyone this is our old truck we ran back in Colorado. And once this old man figures out how to edit the video we have from that race I will try to post it here as well. But for now we will run the stock ramcharger when we get the chance to. Looking forward to making the curcuit next season.
And this is the body we are building a new chassis for. It will have a few alterations but most of it will be there. If all goes well it will be ready to go early next year. It belonged to the late Virgil Sellers, who I had the opportunity to work with for the last 3 plus years before he passed. The new truck will be dedicated to him then retired after the season. The body will be the chassis , if it works right , will have a new body after the next winter.[img]url=https://servimg.com/view/13021672/8]Our old truck Virgil12[/img]

Cool! Nice to have ya here! I thought I recognized Virgil's truck in that 2nd pic. A friend of mine talked to him a few times and mentioned mud races and was trying to hint at what it might take to use one of his wheelie stander motors in a mud rig. Haha but I dont think he hinted enough. Hope to see ya out there this next year.

Virgil and I joked about putting one of his Keith Blacks in our new chassis when it got done, unfortunately things didnt work out that way. We are building a mopar wedge engine for the new truck , tossing around a 526 stroked 440 but funds will dictate what we end up with.
The old truck had a 383 wedge that had a 300 shot of NOS to it as well. Not sure we want to do that to a new engine ...hahahaha... ends up costing a lot more in the long run. With everything we are doing to this motor it should do just fine without the NOS.

Sounds like another fast competitor for next year! Hopefully I'll be out and watching you run.

Next year there should be:

Big Al's as usual

Maybe the Elk Mud Bog if they get the permit

Maybe the Hillyard (Dog Pound) one some more

Sprague in early September

and whatever other ones will pop up next year.
